Until I met Kat and moved to New Jersey to be with her, I had never been to New York City. I’ve been several times now, most often to see a show, but occasionally for [other reasons][1]. This past weekend was the first time I’ve gone and stayed overnight in the city, and the occasion was to enjoy a visit with my dad and his ladyfriend, Sandra, who were in town to visit with some of her friends and family. |inline

My day in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) arrived with no organized touring plans. Until a couple days before, I thought I was signed up for a tour of the Cu Chi tunnels, but that turned out be for the next day, which conflicted with my overland tour to Angkor Wat. The conflict was easy enough to fix (cancelled the tunnel tour), but that still left me with no plan for Day 1. No big deal.
